On the heels of great news concerning the lower mortality of Yellowstone area grizzlies this year we find out that 2 bears have been killed, 1 Grizzly Near Ovando, MT and 1 Grizzly in the North Fork area near Cody, WY.

Both killings are under investigation still, The North Fork incident happened on or near October 24th and the incident in Ovando happened 3 1/2 miles North of Ovando on or near November 3rd when Montana Game wardens responded to a report of a dead grizzly, An initial investigation has found the bear had died of a gunshot wound. The bear had three cubs, and Montana FWP was able to trap two of the cubs, according to FWP's Vivaca Crowser, and those cubs will be taken to the Bronx Zoo,  Crowser adds that multiple attempts to capture the third cub were unsuccessful.
